the bearings have crapped out on mine and i want to know whats the best one for the money. If theres something out there that youve tried that cools your car better, that info would be appreciated as well.
i just bought mine at checker.....when i rebuild, i will probably go with the flo-kooler.....caught my attention as the only lifetime warranty high flow pump (flowing 30% more than stock pump at idle and low RPMs...when we need it most!)
I have always had good luck with the auto zone rebuilt units... Used them on many a L98 vette withough failure. I had some problems with varous hi-flow models, actually flowing too much coolant....did not stay in the radiator long enough to get cooled down....waste of money...IMO
I also have used a couple of autozone water pumps on 2 different corvettes I have owned . $45 with a lifetime warrany, and they have never failed me yet.
Re: which water pump for L98?? (Tom 35th anniversary)
I like the flow koolers. Summit carries the one for our cars for about 80 or 90 bucks. Supposedly it flows 30% more than stock equivilents, but I dont know for sure. I haven't put mine on yet, so I couldn't tell you how much of a difference it makes. Friends have had them on various cars and everyone likes them.
