My 84 with 99,000 miles has begun to stall and die when making right turns, not left turns. mostly on half a tank or less. I have replaced the sending unit with an 85-87 fuel pump, IAC valves, fuel filter. still stalls. any clues where to go next?
There are numerous posts on this site referring to the same problem your having. It seems the C4s have always had a problem with sharp turns and less then 1/2 tank of gas..Do a search, there may be a solution Im not aware of...WW
Right turns tend to be sharper ... tighter radius than lefts ... fuel levels indicated are not always accurate , but the easiest solution would be to keep the tank more than half full ... when you changed the sending unit did you observe that the plastic sump in the tank still had four sides and was still in position directly under the fuel sender / pump access ?
I checked my gauge once after I drained the tank. Discovered that the gas gauge would come active when I turned on the light switch for the parking lights. (Don't now if all C4's do but my 96 does.)
I'd add one gallon at a time and then check the gauge. Turns out my gauge shows a bar for each gallon up to 1/2 tank before the readings get off one bar per gal. If I have more than 1/2 tank I don't have to worry anyway, but it's nice to know how much is really in there when it starts getting down to refueling time.
