When I bought my car, the cags seemed to force me into 4th gear as it should. For about the last month or so, even when the 1 to 4 light comes on, it will still let me go into 2nd gear. I also have noticed that after driving for a while, getting into second gear requires more effort than normal. Do you think these are related. I wasn't going to get the CAGS eliminator because it would always let me into 2nd gear anyway. I just figure the CAGS solonoid was not working. But now I think it may be intermittently causing problems. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance. Anyone going to Spring Carlisle this weekend?
CAGS bothered me and my tranny was acting crappy. I sometimes couldnt get it into or out of first (even when light was off). Unplugged it and everything cleared up. Worked better than when i bought it. Can't hurt. By the way i just left the connector hanging.
Thanks guys. I'm going to disconnect the thing. I bought a 6 speed so I could decide what gear I wanted. I was hoping you would say it was probably the CAGS and not a syncro or something.
