Ok, I'm working on a 94 for a friend. I found his parking brake disconnected. When I when to reconnect the cable to the handle it was like the cable was an inch or two short. I had to pull on the handle and cable and was able to get the bolts in. However, this put tension on the e-brake system especially the right side, it will not move and the levers are off their stops.

I undid everything and the caliper levers and cables are free and not froze up. Seems to me the problem is either the cable is too short or the handle mechanism is screwed up.

I did find in the FSM a procedure to disable the parking brake, but that procedure with its crappy pictures is about as clear as mud. I do not see the holes to put pins in as they show it in the pics.

Then in another section they describe the free travel adjustment, however it notes that this procedure will not correct the caliper levers not being on the stops. It never says what to do IF the caliper levers ARE NOT on their stops.

I am at a loss on this one. I have never seen a parking brake setup quite like this one. Similar ones yes, exactly like this no.

Seems to me the parking brake handle needs "reset". Pics or info is appreciated. I currently have the handle assy. out of the car.
