1986 Vette rim question
I just did this on my 87.....BUT...you need at least 3/4" spacer adaptors in the front and probably 1" in the rear.
The 16" is 38mm offset...the difference between the sawblade and sawtooth is about 3/4"...but the rear fits the wheel well a bit better with 1" back there. Expect to spend about $250 for the 4 good spacer/adaptors. Search Flea-Bay. Look for EZ-Acessories.
The car looks funny without the spacers when the wheels set too far inside the wheel well.
Make damn sure those rims are not curbed...they warp very easily, and the rash tends to start the clear coat to peeling. If you're patient, you can find 17 x 9.5 for all 4 corners...big advantage being able to rotate.I only paid $250 ( deal) for mine with no rash. All 9.5" then they got stripped and polished like chrome...except better.
The 17" selection of tires is endless right now. The 16" is down to about 4 mfg these days. BFG being the best of the bunch as far as price and performance.
