OPTI testing
Is there a way to test the optispark off the engine. I pulled mine and found the 6,8 and 1 electrodes pitted and corroded and it has been arcing inside the cap as well. No visible signs of water intrusion. Don't want to reinstall if it could be bad. Help!!

If you had a scope and a way to spin the dist you could see the high/low resolution signals from the opti. However if all you had before you removed the opti were miss fires and rough running and you checked for codes and had none--I'd replace cap,rotor and the seal betwen the cap and dist housing and reuse the opti.
