C4 performance with chip upgrade

C4 performance with chip upgrade
What are the chips available for C4 engines and how much difference would it make. Is it easily replaced in your own garage or does one have to take it to a professional? Numbers in HP would be appreciated.

What year C4?
If it's an L98 with a MAF, the chip isn't necessary with light mods (say 300-350hp). Put the $$ into other mods.

Good post, I would also like know the answers. I does depend on your other mods and what you want the chip to change in the computer. Let's hear from some of the forum experts.. :yesnod:

Well I have had good luck with mine. I have the generic Ed Wright chip. I ran last fall on a cool day at MIR and ran 13.50's and 1- 13.49. Well this spring I ran 13.30's with the Ed Wright chip. These runs were all made with the traction control on, so I could get as close as a comparsion as possible. A lot of this improvement might have come from the lower temp that the car runs at, with the new chip. Its about 30 degrees cooler.
