Fan fuse or fusible link near battery. Follow the heavy red wire from main fan relay(inner fender below MC) back towards battery and you will find the fusible links.
Hello to everyone. I'm glad I came across this forum as I have an issue that needs to be addressed.
I've got a problem with overheating. both fans do not come on when supposed to EXCEPT when I turn on the AC, then one fan comes on. that has kept me from damaging the motor. This is what I ve done, replaced both relay's as they were old. I can ground each relay making each fan turn on by relay connector F.. i've got voltage at the relays using connector E to ground also voltage at connector D. I can jump terminal A to B and they turn on., i've grounded the fan's and got each one to work.
I've pulled out the ALCL from underneath and I think I've got a problem already. As you look at the ALCL attached to the frame housing , the circular hole is on the right side as you look at the pins, with the oval hole on the left. they should line up in pairs, FEDCBA being the top letters and the bottom are GHJKLM, reading left to right. I have 16 slots with 6 slots EMPTY, and most important the slot for letter B is empty with no wire, as is the location for letter F. I've traced the bundled wires as far up into the dash area as I can and yet there is still 6 wires missing. it appears that someone must of done some monkeying around up there.
My guess is, with the ignition key in the ON position and iv'e ground the inoperative cooling fan relay's (both of them) via connector terminal "F", they turn on, that my problem is with the ECM.
Feedback ? I'm just a home mechanic with available tools and I do not want to take it to a "shop". Thanks for your input.

Reason: I forgot to mention that I've already replaced the coolant temp sensor behind the oil dipstick tube, passenger side.
NOT SURE BUT BOTH FUSEIBLE LINKS ARE GOOD AND BOTH SENSORS WORK, ACTUALLY FOUND 2 RELAYS GOING TO REPLACE THEM AFTER WAITING A WEEK FOR THEM TO BE SHIPPED FROM CALIF. EVERYTHING ON MY VETTE IS no longer being made and is no longer available thru G.M.
