HELP! early C4 fuel filter

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=283318
Details - if you can, do this first thing in the morning, after tha car has set all night, the fuel pressure will most likely be zero, otherwise crank the car, and pull the fuel pump fuse. The engine will does soon due to lack of fuel pressure. Open the gas tank lid to relieve any built up pressure, then close the lid back. Now jack, jackstand, remove, replace. Be ready to catch some fuel loss, but it should not be too bad.
If you have a convertible, the X-brace will be in the way, and you may have to remove it (speaking from others comments, I have never done a convertible).

Look here. There are a lot of articles like this on the Forum. BTW short wrenches helped me.
Good Luck,

i ended up finding it... it was behind the front passenger tires right on the frame next to the Cat...
i was expecting one of those little ones you use in muscle cars and older engines, and what i got was this HUGE can thing... didnt know it was THAT big...
I had to remove a shield from in front of it and had to burn my arms a couple time first to make it feel like i was doing real live car work. (i am SOOO not a mechanic in any way, this is a BIG project in my book heh)
to remove the heat shield, i had to sit there and clank my knuckles on the hot cat while the harder-to-get-to bolt would not come out.. it was tight... of corse the easy one to get to just fell right out after a few twists (well not a few.. it was a fine thread and took like 3 hours to unscrew the little basdrds) heh...
once that was off, i found the clamp thing holding the filter in's screw was BEHIND another line that was next to it.. of CORSE the line would not move (it was the same kind as the fuel line), so instead of popping a socket on it i had to get a wrench out and turn it approx 546891412785 times to loosen it to get the filter loose.
Once that was done, i dug through my dad's collection of wrenches that didnt fit anything... he has like 20 of 3 different size wrenches that dont fit anything... anyhow... i found one that fit the fuel line itself, and i had to use an adjustable wrench for the filter.... it took 89165913 turns to get those off also since it was at the most oddball angle known to man....
.... meanwhile, i have gas gushing all over everything.. i stuck a drop pan down there which took up most of my elbow space for using the wrenches... anyway.. the gas leaked down the wrenches and down my arms and all over my shirt/shoulder and back...
It is already like 90* outside and super humid (its only 9am!) and the cheap carpet roll i use for working under the car was rubbing the gas and my shirt into my arms... the weather temp didnt help that.... so i crawled out from udner the car and hosed my burning arm off and went back under... ok... now for the new filter... i get the engine side on simple... but the gas tank side was a biaaaccchhh to get on because of the oddball angles it was in... so more gas is just gushing down my arm and i FINALLY get it wrenched on tight enough to stop the leaks and went running into my parents house yelling that my arm is on fire...
i rip my shirt off and my mom was like "oh honey, your whole side and back adn arms aer all red" so she makes me get in her shower and washes my back off with one of those cheap sandpaper washcloths (i think it was a soft one, but at this point everything was sandpaper)... so she gets my arm and back washed off and i go out side to finish tightening the thing adn get it cleaned up...
it took like 20mins i think, so that wasnt too bad,.. it was justa biaacchh to do :(
