Probably going to stir up a debate here but here goes:
Currently in the process of breaking in my 385 and mseven is doing the tune. I currently have an LT1 intake that I modded on there and it is running fine (I know I can't leave anything alone). I happened across a HSR locally and could not pass it up. I read all the threads about modifying them to fit under the hood but I really like the L88 scoop (being delivered tomorrow via FedEx).
What should I expect in performance difference?
It is going on either way, just wondering everyone's preference.

Unless you've got a setup where the HSR will fit w/o modification, don't bother. The difference would likely disappoint you. Look at the article "Ten Times the Torque" to see how much difference in TQ their would be at any given rpm. Where less than 20ft/lbs, you'd probably need a dyno to detect it.
Well, hell, guys. I knew I was questioning myself for a reason and I trust your judgements. Would it hurt my performance?
I guess I'll just hang onto it for now. I hate to admit it, but I love the scoop and I'm going to bond/blend it on so I'll have the room. I dont like having a scoop and nothing to actually be under it, though.
Maybe put the HSR on when I get bored of the current configuration. I'm sure it will happen - probably sooner rather than later.

I guess it depends on how the modified LT intake compares to the MR. In that TTTT dyno comparison (mentioned above), there is only 100 rpms difference between the MR and the HSR peak values. And, the HP/TQ differences were basically neglible.
