Default I'm going nuts here....help needed.

After two days I have finally figured out (I think) what was wrong with the ingnition swithch on my '88. It appears to have been the ignition switch actuator rack.
However......
I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it back together. The culprit is
what I believe is the dimmer switch rod actuator. Even the FSM does not show how it fits in. I would be immensly grateful if anyone can guide me to any source that shows how exactly this part goes in, or provide any insight. I've searched the forum and the net in general, but to no avail. My Vette is my daily driver and I'm desperate to get it running.
Many thanks!

I had mine out the other day. I put mine in the column cover first, then put the cover on. I seem to remember it fitting "ok" in a wrong place, but fit very well in the right place. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
