Default fuel pump ???

Hi, so car would run and then just die. Ran codes... had 22 and 54. I replaced TPS and fuel pump relay. Car would only start with starter fluid. I tried jumping FP from G and nothing. Also tried jumping FP from relay plug.... Nothing. Any other way to test the fuel pump? Next, I will just replace the FP. If any other ideas, Please let me know
Thanks

I hooked up pressure gauge when it was running and got 38 lbs, but now car wont start unless I spray starter fluid in throttle body... and only till it burns off. Does this sound like the pump was on its way out?
I tried jumping the pump with a wire on the relay plug and got nothing. I also tried jumping the pump on the "G" plug with the key on and got nothing.

Need more of a story of what happened.

Did the no-start problem just occur one day with your 85 Vette?

Or has it been hard starting for some time now ?

Car would run but stall then hard to start back up. Car would start easy when cold. After idleing for 15 20 minutes, hard to restart after shut down. Recently though, car will not start at all. I have owned car for about 3 years. It was a running project, but took back seat to newer projects, so it has never been tagged and sits alot.

Try a jumper from clk/ctsy fuse to fuel pump fuse and see if that gets the pump running.

I tried that.... I took a wire with a fuse in the middle and jumped wire from fuel pump fuse block to 12 volt fuse next to it and the fuse blew. I touched the right side of the fuse plug on the FP. If I put a multi meter to the 2 fuse plugs ( red on courtesy and black on FP I get 12 volts) like the FP is grounded.
I bought a new fuel pump this morning and will put it in tonight.
So far... new TPS, FP relay.. car ran and started for 3 years, now no start at all unless I use start fluid.

.
That's because the fuel pump is grounded. There is continuity between + and -, just like a light bulb.

The fact that the jumper fuse blew, leads me to believe your pump is frozen and overloading the fuse.

I hope it is the pump, that would make my life easy. I am replacing it tonight and will see what happens. I just had 2 other cars with fuel pump problems (Iroc Vert, GT Vert) its like a virus. Am I parking them too close together? The shame is, is that in 3 years I havent put 100 miles on either cars. Its my full size match box collection.
Thanks for posts.

It was the pump. The car has never run so good. When I pulled the old one out there was no sock on the end so it was just sucking up all the crap I guess. I just hate changing parts unless I know for sure.
