So I recently had a code 15, low coolant temp. The sensor in the water pump housing was broken, so I replaced it. Now I'm gettign a code 15 again...low coolant temp. The digital gauge is reading at 142 degrees at all times. Anyways, I was poking around and every time I I wiggled the wire that connects to the coolant temp sensor, I heard this sound. Sounds like its coming from the water pump area, but can't be sure. I'm sure its a loose connection somewhere, but what in the heck is making this sound???
It sounds like a solenoid or relay to me. There are two fan relays on the radiator shroud just behind the left headlight. Typically the ECM will run the cooling fans when it stores a fault code or illuminates the MIL
AC relay and others are on a support bracket just behind the right front wheel well.
The EVAP purge solenoid is likely the closest on the right side of the intake manifold near the front under the fuel rail cover,
The EGR solenoid is under the left fuel rali cover near the back.
Try touching each in turn as you wiggle the wires and you should be able to isolate the one making the noise.
