Default Slipping when warm?

Today I did som hard runs around a track with my vette. And I noticed that my tranny act a bit diffrent after the run.
It seems that it has a problem to downshift right. I whas in third going uphill and pressed the throttel down a bit, the tranny refused to downshift to second?! And then I tried to punch it, now it shifted down to first gear ( as it should ) but the car dident throw me back in the seat as it used to to, just like the tranny whas slipping... After letting the car cool down the tranny works like it should, downshifts are nice and the car pulls as it should.

Do I look at a rebuild? Or can a fluid and filter change help me?
Or a tranny cooler?

I hope you can help me..

ohh and the fuild is the right colour and doesnt smell burn.

Regards

I would go with a fluid and filter change if it hasn't been done in a while. If that dosn't work then you should probably think about a rebuild.

Excellent advice. If it doesn't smell and it isn't discolored. This may keep you going for a while. Eventually they all need to be rebuilt and the more you run them on the track, the quicker that time comes.

start with fluid and filter, check the color of the fluid and see if there are alot of metal shavings in the pan. If the color aint red and there are alot of very fine shavings in there you should think about a rebuild. When you get the rebuild put a cooler in, or if it just turns out that you needed to change the fluid put one in anyway.
