Window Ribbon Replacement without removing the window?
Can you replace the window ribbon in an early C4 without removing the glass?
I've heard it can be done? anyone know how?
Can I drill through the inner door to remove the rivets?
If I make a slightly larger hole (or two) in the inner door itself... then drill out the rivets... I should be able to fit a bolt/nut through there... and then not have to remove the window and then have to re-align?
The door panels will cover the holes... so no one will see them...
Anyone done this? or something else so I don't have to remove it all?
I'm sure anything is possible but it should be done properly and you can clean all the old grease and gunk out of the assembly while it is out. Or upgrade to the later C4 regulators and stop the future problems (bought mine used from a CF member but have not done them yet - ribbons still hanging in there).
