Mostly cheap super! Car runs fine on it. minimum of 92 octane. I've found no difference with 94. No need for octane boost or race fuel.

I use Gold premium (93 octane Amoco) in the LT-5 and Silver mid-grade(89 octane Amoco) in the LT-1 and the cheapest stuff I can find in the 78 CJ-7

Have you guys even seen how much fuel is left in the pump lines when you are done filling? If I understand it correctly, the system is pressurized. This means that if the previous cheapo uses the 87 octane gas, you will get possibly up to 2 gallons of 87 octane gas. Also, if you have ever seen the tanker fill the gas station tanks, their filling line also traps gas of different octane in the lines when they switch. What this is telling me is that you are not getting what you pay for. The gas does fall within the specs, but you are getting diluted gas. Estimated, I suspect that if you are filling up 15 gallons, you are actually getting 13 gallonish of what you actually pay for. Now, from what I understand...in order for the 90+ octane gass to actually be rated 90+ octane, the 87 octane gas actually is higher than 87 octane. I have no scientific proof of this. Just using some poor logic and a tight wallet. Maybe Im trying to make myself feel better about buying 87 octane gas, maybe not...

87 octane for me.

93 octane is only a nickel more than 89, so I get 93.

87 is like a quarter cheaper, that goes in the truck.

93 Octane here in Missouri. It doesn't make sence not to run the good stuff.
it is only $2 or $3 more per tank. That's a little bit of cheep insurance.

I mostly get 90 from my dad's business (don't have to pay for it) :D Sometimes I get 91 or 93, if I can't get to my dad's.

Plus should work with no problems.

Before I left the states I was using Amoco 93, Ft Meade MD area. Everytime I used 92 or lower I got a bit of pinging. Never caused any damage evidenced to the shape of the pistons when we tore the motor apart. Car ran great on 93. I tried Sunoco's 94 once but didn't really see any difference. In the UK I'm somewhat forced to buy fuel on base. Around $.38 per liter(on base) vs $1.15 per liter  off. You do the math for how much that works out a gallon. The fuel on base is rated at 90 octance. Needless to say I do use an octane booster. Everytime I fill up I dump a can in just prior to filling the tank. Even at $3 - $4 a bottle I still come off cheaper.

Regular burns fine in my L98. I've tried premium, but the car starts better with regular.

Amocco 93... I agree with the idea that it is only a few more $ tank.... well worth the extra dough

87 octane for me.
By that same token if they fill up high octane first off the truck, you get more than what you pay for with regular. You might not be getting exactly what is advertised but you'll be getting the best you can get. It's all about the car. If it runs without pinging on regular you are wasting money and power to go to high octane. If it pings on regular but doesn't ping on high octane you are good to go. Be it 93 or 90, or whatever you actually get, if it works, it works.

Regular for me. I have the lowly L-83 engine with 106K miles but she still purrs like a kitten on 87. I have filled up with 94 before and notice no difference. If it isn't knocking why pay more. I'd rather spend the extra cash on toys for her.
