Default convertible top install question

I am installing a new convertible top. The FSM says the distance between the bows is critical and to take measurements before removing the top so they can be maintained when installing the staypads. I am working with a bare frame so I do not know what the distance between the bows should be. Any one have these measurements? It is an 86 frame if that makes a difference.

If you are refering to putting the bows in witdh wise, they float in the fabric channel they fit in. If you are talking length wise, there is no adjustment. The top pulls tight when you close the top. I glue the back portion of the top first. Its critical that you get the top centered across the back under the window. I use black weatherstrip adhiesive to install tops. With the adheisive you can move the top before it sets up. The back section has to be tight all the way across to both doors. The front I do last. The front is easy.

the 3rd picture you posted showing the bare frame is where I am at. I need to install the staypads on the frame. I need to know the correct spacing between the bows.
