As I suspected, you detach the TV cable from the valve body (duh). Here it is!

Wrongo on disconnecting it there. The TV cable can be removed without dropping the pan. Disconnect the clip and slide the cable off the pin on the throttle body. Then you will have enough slack to lift the cable housing near the transmission, and you will find the real TV cable linkage there.

The connection at the bellcrank inside the pan area is a small wire about 2" long that connects to the TV cable.

Your attempting it the hard way.

Thanks for the info - I'll have to check the linkage tomorrow as I didn't see any when I detached the cable. Hard way or easy way, that darn cable is off at the tranny! :D

Let's hope so, apparently I did it the hard way (but hey, at least it got done). :)

Hard way/easy way - does not matter. You got it done. GM did not design it with pan removal in mind to replace the TV cable. :)

Now, TV cable replacement on a Superam intake require removal of the intake box. UGH.

Ugh. That brought back too many bad memories. I had my pan off my 700R4 so many times the local parts store started stocking extra gaskets for me. :cry

I was never able to get the TV cable off without dropping the pan though. There isn't even enough room for me to get 2 fingers between the trans and the tunnel on my Camaro. Maybe there's more room on a Y-body.
