First off, on a couple of occasions my "Service Engine Soon" light has come on and the engine has died after starting the car when the a/c was on high - is this common?
Secondly, after the a/c has been on for a while, when I park up and turn the engine off, there's a fairly loud hissing from under the hood that lasts for about 10 seconds (not enough time for me to get out and pop the hood) - is this normal?
 ok first of all when you pee, is the car running?
as far as the ac my guess is - not common. i don't have the same model year as you but it sounds uncommon. have you been charging you own ac. just a thought , it sounds like it may be over charged. the hissing is most likely internal, pressure equalizing in the ac system. the stalling - if your ac is running a really high head pressure it could put a strain on the motor and maybe cause it to stall.
good luck
