I just got done doing it about 10 minutes ago.
It's a bitch.

First loosen all the hangers(there are four spring hangers).

Then go ahead and loosen the clamp on the passenger side.

Remove the two nuts and one bolt on the drivers side flange.

Support the exhaust with a floor jack, remove the four nuts on the four spring hangers.
Remove the muffler hanger nuts.

Let the exhaust drop a little.

Now the fun part, take a 2 x 4 and place it against the resonater at the front. Whack it a million times with a sledge until the exhaust slides out.

Before attempting any of this, spray the flange nuts and bolts(on the drivers side) with Liquid Wrench or WD-40 or something similar.

The top nut is the hard one to get at, but it can be done.

Spray it all with penetrating oil repeatedly over a few days. I had a stud break. Not fun.

Well, It is going to be parked for another month or so while I do a bunch of work to it, and I guess I'll spray it for a week or so... I've got a bunch of those penatrating oils, ....

did you have it jacked up while you were 'whacking it' with the sledge hammer? I am thinking twice about banging on stuff with the car on jack stands.... but the 2x4 idea is a good one, and I'll definately try it cause I can't think of any other way....

Definately soak the exhaust bolts with the penetrating oil! Mine wasn't too bad after that. Once it was loose and resting on a jack i grabbed the tail pipes and yanked em hard, about fell over once it came loose, but I didn't have to bang on it, Lots of pulling and wiggling though!
