Default C4 vacume issue

I recently had a 36 fault code on my 88 with the L98, which said to change the Mass Air Flow burnoff relay. I changed the relay and the error code has not come back. While also tracing out the vacume lines throughout the engine compartment I noticed a few T-connection block off caps(rubber stoppers basicly) and a small hard vacume line to larger rubber vacume line addapter that were deteriorating and cracked. I just changed them out. Now when I'm driving and let off the excellorator all the way the engine rpm seem to lag on the high side, they don't drop off instantly like they had before. I may be imagining it but it also seems that the transmission is not downshifting when I get on the excellorator like it used to. Wondering what could cause the rpms to not drop instantly when the gas pedal is released, could the same issue be causing the downshift problem. What do I do???

Sounds to me like you need to check the vac lines again, the slow "falling to idle" thing sounds like a vac leak. I don't believe there is a vac line that goes to the tranny, only a tv cable.
