Can headlight motors install backwards?

Can headlight motors install backwards?

I have another thread on this but i am curious. Is it possible to remove headlight motors (with the brackets attached) and put them back in in reverse?

I painted my car and now the headlights won't open, just close.

Everything looks perfect! It's driving me nuts, and looking at them I dont see how they could be backwards.

the motors are the same Left & right... there is no way you can put the left light assembly on the right... or vice versa...

can you rotate the headlight up by hand... the common problem is there are 3 nylon bushings inside that disintegrate... and will not rotate the headlight... I would check the electronics first..
you can bypass the leads with a direct 12 volts source... to open and close the headlight...
