Was wondering if anyone was using this pump with a stock pan. My machine shop suggested it but it takes a smaller diameter tube and I'm not sure what one to use. Morosso says they can only suggest one for one of there pans but I think there should be one that fits.
for what it's worth, there are a number of later pumps available which have the 3/4 inch inlet as versus the smaller (5/8 th inch ?) inlet that you allude to. I would think JEGs could provide a recommendation for a pump /pick up combo.
the moroso pump appears to be a very good pump, but one of the few up dates in small block oil pumps was to use a bigger pick up...same size as a big block pump pickup.
I imagine you have invested a lot of time and money in your 383 build and I personally would want a pump with the larger inlet.
I speculate that the JEG's pan with its kickout's is very similiar to to a canton road race pan and if you go to the canton web site you'll see they make very specific pump and pickup recommendations...which might serve as a guide.
good luck. everyone on these sites loves their 383's.
