Default OBD II datalogging options?

What are my options here?

I just bought JET DST #14005 and obviously need to get some logs before I start making changes.

You can use HP tuners scanner to log runs on a 1996 or 1997 car.

I use autotap with the gm enhancement so I can log knock retard. I use JET DST to tune my 96 Vette. I have HPTUners for my camaro and pickup. Bjankuski is right you can use hptuners to scan but you only get the 18 generic parameters which in most cases is ok but you don't get knock retard.

fairly hefty cost associated with hp tuners vcm scanner. anyone else know of anything less costly? free would be good! :-)

The GM enhancement that runs $99 give or take. Where did you find it for $129? It comes with a cable and software.

I got mine from thunder racing. It was $199 for autotap and $99 for the gm enhancement. The nice thing is you can use it on anything 96 or newer for the generic parameters and anything 96 or newer with all the parameters with gm vehicles.

thanks for the info. Is there a specific autotap part number or version to use? The gm enhancement allows logging of enhanced sensors such as knock retard?

Autotap ATU is what I bought it has a USB cable opposed to Autotap ATS which has a 9 pin serial cable. I will PM you a link to the site I bought it from because I am pretty sure they are not a forum sponsor.

Also the gm enhancement opens the door to about 250 gm enhanced parameters to scan. The only reason I got it was knock retard. It will be nice if I have to scan some newer stuff with the drive by wire.

I appreciate the info barber. Autotap appears to be the best thing going for logging an LT1. And like you said, it can be used for other gm vehicles also.
