Add the required MTV hole.

3-4 upshift will take place @ WOT & will stay in 4th gear till you lift off the gas pedal.

Hi,

YES.

That "MTV" hole required for all C4 700R4 Corvette Only transmissions is missing.

Needs to be added for correct 3-4 Automatic WOT upshifts & hold in 4th as long as you want it at will.

No, It is not punched out in the 700R4 TransGo universal separator plate.

.1875"/ 3/16" drill bit will solve all issues you have right now.

I have been following & reading all posts on this thread.

Logic told me after last night you were using a TRANS GO 700R4 steel separator plate too like me.

The Factory GM Corvette Service Manual shows all Valvebody worm hole oil flow & Steel valvebody separator plate oil holes stamped out.

Has to be a Corvette FSM for a 1992 model year to identify & locate "MTV" hole missing.

Laying your factory installed valve body separator steel plate on top of TRANS GO 700 R4 separator plate will help too.

Not with an auto, heck my 93 w/headers and a cam would barely do 155, course it had 150k miles on it at the time, but I had 2.56 gears.
I would think you should be in the 140 mph range, but I can't say for sure, as you did not mention your HP.
Also, just because it is a 383, does not make it a beast. Tuning, how well your heads and intake flow, all play a part in how well it will perform and whether you have a lowend, mid range or topend designed cam.

C4's are aerodynamic.

My late friend had a 1985 Z51 A4.

Iron headed as from factory.
His mods done............we seen 170+mph several times together.

My 87 vert still has all factory cats.
Runs 150 easily top end.
taching around 3,600 RPM's only.

I checked my notes on my 87 Vert 700R4 rebuild last year.

Its not labeled as MTV.............

DETENT.

Hole #26, square punched hole.

Add hole with a .1875"/ 3/16" drill bit & debur surrounding edges from drilling.

Figure # 44 Typical Spacer Plate, page # 700R4-40 in my 1987 Corvette FSM.

Check your 1992 Factory Corvette Service Manual also.
