ABS pump runs when at stoplight.. '86E Auto
This started happening a few days ago and has been getting worse..
When at a stoplight with my foot on the brake the ABS pump just starts to run moving the brake pedal up and down.
I have no loss of braking and the brakes seem to be working fine when the car is moving. The pump doesn't come on under normal braking.. just when im already stopped at a light or something for a few seconds.
If i inch the car forward or completely take my foot off the brake the pump stops.
Any ideas?

Just for a test, try pulling the ABS fuse and see if the brakes are still working normally.
FWIW I cannot understand how GM has left all of the C4 ABS systems out on a limb?!!
Somebody out there has the test equipment. Does anyone know where we can get our ABS modules test/repaired?

Well I finally found the Kent Moore ABS Tester J-35890 for a reasonable price. 
First to test it and see what options are available.
Then I might consider renting it out.
Not to hijack this thread....... so I'll start another when the unit arrives

PS: my ABS light does work and it is not coming on. The system self tests itself when i 1st move. The ABS seems to also to work fine.. I intentionally tryed locking the wheels on wet pavement and it kicked in and didnt throw a light.
