This started happening a few days ago and has been getting worse..
When at a stoplight with my foot on the brake the ABS pump just starts to run moving the brake pedal up and down.
I have no loss of braking and the brakes seem to be working fine when the car is moving. The pump doesn't come on under normal braking.. just when im already stopped at a light or something for a few seconds.
If i inch the car forward or completely take my foot off the brake the pump stops.
Have you checked for the possibility of water having been in the compartment which holds the ABS---I've seen that cause problems although not what you are describing--just a thought.

No i have not! And that is a good thought because it has been raining like crazy here and my weatherstripping isnt all that great. I will check the bottom of the ABS compartment and report back tomorrow.
PS: my ABS light does work and it is not coming on. The system self tests itself when i 1st move. The ABS seems to also to work fine.. I intentionally tryed locking the wheels on wet pavement and it kicked in and didnt throw a light.

Just enuf to keep the car stopped while im sitting at a light.. very light pressure. If i let up and let the car inch forward the pump stops.
