Looks ok to me, like what is in the factory service manual. Put that $14 toward a red cover FSM or the reprint from Helms. It probly has a lot more detail than the CD your looking at unless its just a complete copy of the FSM. Plus you gain much needed info on your car that a Haynes or Clymer will not have.
I went and looked at it and it looks interesting to have as a supplement and back up to the FSM.
Having all the C4 years might be a neet thing and something I have been thinking about in the past.
I would like to see some feedback also.
Might be nice having some info on the computer and be able to scan, print or send a picture.
When I had my small shop in alaska and repair books were hard to come buy, I used the internet for almost all wiring issues and some mechanical ones as well. It was all free for the searching and still is . The advantage to the FSM w/electrical suppliment, is that its specific to your car , by the folks that built your car, with diagnostics provided for the mechanics that may be working on your car. If you buy a chilton and it doesnt have what you want, and then you buy a haynes and it doesnt have what you want, and then you buy a disc and it doesnt have what you want, you've spent $70 plus shipping and you could've got a good used FSM for $70 that has most everything you want. Thats bout as technical as I get
Thanks for the input. I have the FSMs but was just looking additional info and in the electronic format. It would be nice to have all that other info on the other C4 years as the CD at I am looking covers the electrical but probably not the mechanical sections.
I got a CD containing the FSM, owner's manual, and a bunch of other stuff for my 1988, seems like for about $30. Is a little more trouble to use than the FSM unless you print out the pages you need. Doesn't contain the Electrical Supplement but seems to have wiring diagrams of everything and lots of step by step troubleshooting. It does take a little time to figure out how the diagrams relate to each other as their logic seems weird compared to any others I have ever seen, including Camaro. Part of the reason that I got the CD version is that I usually travel with my computer so could put the info on the computer so I would have it with me any time it was needed without having to haul around a heavy book, i.e., my laptop is much lighter than the FSM and takes up less room! Having said that, I will probably break down and get a FSM sometime when I spot a good deal on one in good shape. Would also like to know what additional info the Elect Sup has?
