Default Anyone ever encountered this?

The other day when I was doing some running I shut the Vette off & the antenna motor was running constantly. I had to pull the fuse to stop it. Now the cable that operates the mast is broken. I know with a broken cable the motor will not shut off until it hits a stop. However, I have a kill switch in the antenna wire so it will stay down when I am using the cd which is all the time. The switch is good, I even took the wires off it yet the motor still ran. The only way I can kill the motor is to pull either one of the connectors at the relay or pull the fuse. Has anyone ever had this happen? The search has nothing.

I have the wiring diagram, I have done way more testing than I went into earlier, what it boils down to is where is it getting it's power? If it were power shorting out it would blow the fuse. Power wire is good, trigger wire is good, ground is all that's left am I correct? I admit ignorance when it comes to electricity. I have a feeling it is the internal switches in the motor but???
I should add that I had all the wiring on the radio disconnected and this haunted sucker still wanted to run.

I just got done horsing with the power antenna on my vette. It went part way up and then wouldn't go down. Put a new mast kit in and does the same thing. I have come to the conclusion that when they break just replace the whole darn thing and be done with it. It costs a few bucks more but my sanity thanks me.

There is always power to the antenna motor via the relay and clk/ctsy fuse. Your switch only controls power to the coil in relay, which controls which way the motor will run. The limit switch in motor, is what turns the motor off.

Thanks Dan,
I sent the wiring diagram to my buddy who is an electrician and he also confirmed what you say, the limit switch is keeping it running. I remember now dropping something on the console which must have hit my antenna kill switch, turning it on. The antenna was already down so the limit switch must have stuck then and ran until I heard it when I shut the car off. In the time it ran it broke the cable that guides the mast up & down.
I build my own engines & transmissions but am dumber than a fart when it comes to electricity.
