Ok guys so I've been restoring a wrecked 92 my grandpa started. I was trying to replace the crushed ac drier can that sits behind the radiator and the lines that go to the ac compressor on the driver side (which came off fine) but the line with the big fitting on the passenger side of the car is locked together and the pipe is twisted and FUBAR. I need to know what the box thing is that the line goes into, the coolant reservoir sits right next to it. I guess I'm gonna have to replace it, I don't see any other options? I just need to know what it is so I can look up a replacement.

Use 2 wrench too loosen stuff not just one. The thing inside the black plastic box is the evaporator core:
I did use 2 wrenches! I'm not that much of a dope, I just put a new engine and tranny into the thing 2 days ago the fitting is gualled together being aluminum I'm guessing. It twisted the fixed pipe with the male fitting on the evaporator core.

Sometimes , you have to take a whiz wheel and cut through the nut on two side, being careful not to bugger the threads . Then take a chisel or old screwdriver and tap off the nut. It's garbage anyways.
The aluminum and the steel interact and make it damn near impossible to separate after all these years. Good luck!!!
