Default 85 vette basics

I just bought a 85 vette. Tpi is a whole new world to me so please forgive me. I was wondering the basic parts you guy use to squeeze a little more power out of these l98. It has shortys and 2.5 inch flowmasters. The cat is going soon. Also how much abuse can these cars handle? (4 speed electronic overdrive) The trans was rebuilt and new clutch was put in 3k miles ago. Any info will be appriecated!

CROSSFIRES have pretty good low-end torque.

Any SBC will take a reasonable amount of abuse with proper maintenance. The tranny is a Borg Warner T10 with the Doug Nash OD unit attached. The OD is the weak link. Treat it gingerly and keep it serviced. Use the clutch when shifting into OD. Stay out of OD for spirited driving.

Why say it Repzard? Saying such BS about the 84 CROSSFIRE is offensive. We CROSSFIRE owners are a pretty big part of C4 corvettes just like you are. So why put them down? The 84 was the first year of the C4, but you obviously do not know that or you would not be insulting all CROSSFIRE and C4 corvette owners alike.
