Bleeding Clutch ?
What is the secret to successfully bleeding the C4 hydraulic clutch? The hydraulic slave cylinder is stuffed up under the driver's side exhaust pipe with a heat shield covering it. What's more, the bleeder nipple is facing up which makes it very difficult to get a wrench on or to attach a bleeder tube.

I had to jack up the drivers side of my 85,remove the slave cylinder and bleed it by hand with the bleeder valve at a about a 45 to 60* angle.I tried bleeding it many times with no real improvement until I did this,hope it helps. oh yes jack stands are a must when working under your car,there is a thread here somewhere that shows proper placement.
