Default "Simple" Maintenance

It has been a LONG time since I have posted anything, but I felt the need to simply say:

My water pump started leaking at the weep hole a while back, so I decided to replace the pump, the optispark, the plug wires, the plugs, and the coil while I was at it. I just finished- just waiting for thread sealant to cure before I dump the coolant in her.

Let me just say that this was the biggest PITA project I have done on this car to date. Whoever designed the optispark and the plug wire routing on the driver's side needs to be beaten repeatedly. Fortunately, installing the water pump was a breeze, since there is SOOOOO much clearance to get the darn thing back in!

My apologies for a basically useless post, but I had to vent to some folks who would feel my pain.

Just hope your heater core never needs to be replaced. I've heard it's an uber-PITA.

I don't even want to think about that! I replaced one in a 3rd Gen Camaro years ago, and pretty much everything except the front seats had to come out. And that car's engine bay and interior was WAY less complex than the later model c4.

You were right! As it turns out, the next time WAS easier, since I had a leaking opti seal after I was all done.....
