New prom, no code 12.
Put in a new battery (had an old optima, worked alright but didn't want to get stranded) and right off the bat went into limp-home mode, got mad at it and left it alone for the night. Next day, fired up no problem.
Ran fine for a few days (new tires, inspected, insured now...) but this morning same old. Key to run fan comes on and check engine light. If I start it runs very rich at 1500 rpm. I hit the dash by the ecm, no improvement. No codes if I short ALDL a and b. not even code 12.
I am assuming no code 12 means I have an ecm problem related to the memcal. I'm going to tear out the ecm and see if any of the terminals are loose (which I doubt).
Other than a loose memcal, I'm short of ideas. If the memcal is not loose in the socket, and all the solder joints are good, is the ecm itself bad? is it just the memcal carrier thingy? is it time to burn it to the ground?
Thanks, Mike
