Default Plug wire poll

Hey forum , what kind of sparkplug wires do you guys use? I believe 8mm wires are recommended for the LT1, but the only AC Delco wires I see are 7mm.

OEM, Taylor, MSD, Bosch, Accell etc etc. They are all just fine.
With any wire, make sure the connections are good,, they are RF style, and to check them for resistance every once in a while.
OEM will last quite some time.
Hardest part is picking the color.

If you now have 7mm wires you may want to stay with them unless you want to change your 7mm wire holders. I can't remember what size came stock, I think 7mm, but trying to install an 8mm into a 7mm holder often breaks them, especially if old and brittle. Spiral core wires are more rugged, especially if you pull them on and off for changing plugs or other work. Plug wire resistance is important on computerized vehicles, spiral core does not measure much resistance with an ohm meter but instead utilizes the windings (spiral) that provides inductive reactance, a different type of resistance called impedance, so don't worry about the low ohm readings, they work well.

I switched to Taylor wires because they are rated to 600 degrees whereas alot of the other mediiem priced wires including the Accels I took off are only rated to 400 degrees..This makes a big difference especially if you have headers.....WW

Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm here. High heat, low resistance, durable and don't cause any problems.

OEM AC Delcos are high quality, and will fit perfectly. Go with anything larger in diameter, and you'll be replacing the looms, too.

Live well,

Taylor Thundervolt 50 10.4mm. You can use these to tow your car in a pinch.

Use Taylors. They work fine but hey are pricey. Next time I would use just the OEMs.

As stated, Taylor make some good wires. Get a universal set and put the ends on after routing the wires like you want them for a truly custom fit. They make a good 8mm set for about $50 and you can get a rainbow choice of colors.

Another Taylor vote. But make sure you have a quality crimper to make those wires.

I have a set of MSD Super Conductor 8.5 on my 96 ..Great wires but the 8.5s the size are hard to get wire looms and the like for the 8.5 so if you go with this size make sure can get the stuff that will fit the wires.. Great wires not cheep... If you can ever get them to lock on the spark plug will not come off but pain to get them to lock ..You have to have a strat push and we all know now easy that is on a C-4.. Good luck
