LT4 crate engines are still available. I checked on the cost a few months ago from Jeff Kopp at Superior Chevrolet. They have 6 in stock I believe, but they're not cheap= $6000 (and that's heavily discounted). Also, there were two types of LT4 engines produced: Production engines, and crate engines. The difference is, productions come complete with every part required to make the engine run unlike the crate engines which require some parts (TB, Water pump, opti, etc.). Another difference is that production engines are given a so-called "VIN" number that is on the side of each block. :cheers:
