fixed rough idle

Default fixed rough idle

it seems that after you unplug the iac you need to unplug the distributor wire then set your rpm to 450 then check you tps plug everything back up pull neg cable and so far seems like its running smooth

Hi Skip....I have a rough idle as well....could you run through what you wrote above again. Give some other details as far as what distributor wire and how to set the rpm's. Thanks...

start with jumping the adl under the dash to get your codes after 30 seconds unplug the iac at that time unplug the dist wire you brake booster set up your timing light and crank car will be a little hard to keep running and you may have to idle up a tad once you get it running set your timing to about 6btc then adjust idle to 450 once thats done turn off engine but leave switch on check tps should be .54 then plug everything up pull neg battery cable for about a min you have to remember I replaced the tps and the iac also had pulled the tb and cleaned it once running the only adjusting not by the book was timing seems you set it get car running you can play with the timing my 85 cranks goes up to 900 to 1100 rpms then after afew seconds it idles at 650
