Default octane booster that really works please

Has anyone found a octane boster that actually works. Not seat of the pants, but actual dyno or datalogging changes. Thanks in advance

Got mine up and running, thanks for the help. More power, more timing, less cost, and less knock.

If you are talking about something in a 12 or so oz can diluted into 10 gals or more---you are wasting your time. IMHO

TORCO Mach series unleaded plus.

Only stuff that I found that works.

No dyno time on it.

Just real world street driving & foot down on the floor flat out top end driving.
Higher MPH top end using TORCO,
At times another 5-6 mph top end.
Maybe worth another 10 or 15 flywheel horsepower?
Full ignition advance allowed, no engine knocks detected & ignition timing pulled back.

Have to try it & see if it works for you too.

Torco works for me here.

I was going to go to my Torcoguy and see if they have a concentrate. Race Fuel is very expensive.
My tuner is going to richen my mixture up a little to bring it down I am sure. Wideband had my LT1 at 13.2 to 13.4 at WOT. Little too lean.

The TORCO unleaded octane booster is not inexpensive anymore at around $20 per quart.

It was around $7 to $9 per quart can in the past prior to 2008 always.

The least inexpensive octane booster is LL 100 Aviation Gasoline.
But it has small amounts of lead in it that catalytic converters & O2 sensors don't like.

Race gas is expensive yes too.

Going fast is costing more than from 10 years ago or even prior to 2007.

Years ago I used to be a firm believer in a gallon of Touolene and half a tank of Sunoco. Did indeed do the job. Cost now is unacceptable.

104+ would keep my '69 Wildcat's 430 from pinging under load. The cost of that, lead substitute and MPG is why I sold it. I really enjoyed driving it and it was eating into my pocketbook.

... ... its a placebo ...

If you read the labels carefully you will discover that when they refer to how many points your octane will be increased they are saying .6 not 6 points ........ it would take a tankful of the stuff to make a significant difference ... at that amount , racing gas looks cheap ...

Use Your Auto X- Ray & Monitor Engine Knock Counts.

Use the octane booster of your choice Or race gas Vs. straight pump gas before & after.

I used my Snap On Scanner.
Torco works for me here.

You can always wip it out & pee in the gas tank.
See if that helps or not.
Placebo then.

LOL

..... The next time you visit the miracle in a bottle aisle of your local parts store do the math ... How much does a gallon of Torco cost ? How much octane improvement will that buy you ? ... BTW ... I can buy 110 octane race gas for $11 gallon ... mixing that one gallon of 110 with nine gallons of 93 nets me a 1.7 octane per gallon increase or 94.7 octane ...

used to run that in my '70 Challenger

great stuff

can't use it on anything with an O2 sensor

AvGas gas is more for altitude compensation.

Worked on Lycoming's new EFI engine.
again doesn't work with O2 sensors, well at least not for long.
We had to come up with an EFI system that didn't use O2 sensors. would up running a knock sensor on each cylinder.

We have a Hawaii tax, called living in Paradise, and race fuel is not 11 bucks a gallon. More like 20+ with the race track being gone and all.

Sounds like it would be beneficial to modify the engine as needed to run on pump gas.
