I have read so many posts that say installing the Bushing set that I purchased would take a few hours. Well I'm going on my 4th hour and I still can't seem to get the gear to separate from the Head light bracket, I have removed the head light assembly, thats on the bench the motor is seprate from the Gear
Ecklers said it is difficult to remove the large white gear from the shaft. I CALLED TO MAKE SURE THE WASHER IS NOT THREADED ON. Ecklers said not threaded on just pry the Gear and washer off,
I have pryed and think the whole fricking bracket is twisted. and I still can't remove the Gear., and the gear is still free wheeling so I'm stuck.
Just went through the same thing with my 89. The plastic gear would not lift out. It would turn freely but would not lift off the shaft. Finally said screw it and put a screw driver in and pried the gear up. It slid right off. The spacers were toast. Did both lights and they work great. The first unit took about four hours, but the second one took only about 40 minutes.
Good luck
