Dash Lights

A friend of mine has an '85 Vette. Last week her dash lights went out. She checked the dimmer on the light switch and it doesn't so anything. I checked the fuse box, saw nothing about dash lights. I have my thoughts on why the dash lights don't work, but does anyone out there have a definite solution? She can't drive at night, because she can't see how fast she's going. Thanks for your help.....

Check the inst fuse (3A) with an ohmeter, then check the tail fuse (10A) also with an ohmeter (ohmeters have better vision). The inst fuse gets power from the tail fuse.
