You tore it all the way down! How long did it take you?

The pics are great... I started remembering what was involved in that.

I dont feel so :o about how much filth is down in there. It is amazing what gets in there.

I would say like 3.5 hours but that because of the headers made me spend extra half an hour for the 1/2 bolt that hold the bracket to the frame which is facing the header tube #2, it was really hard to take it out because it was rusty, but some wd 40 and lots of beer helped out a lot!! Lol also another like half an hour was spent on the broken nut welding that I had to re weld, other than that was pretty easy

Most of that dirt is from the coolant !! I will wash the whole car and the engine bay once I get done from putting it together

Oh welding the evaporator was not worth it, I bought a used one out of 93 in great condition for $60 only!!

I'm happy that i took the whole box down in one piece , I got to seal it good out side of the car , and I can be sure that I will not break the new evaporator installing it , and I dont think I had to take out any extra piece from the car to do that.

Hooker super competition , $600, I wrapped them for another $60 and repaint them, but I had to relocate the o2 sensor housing from tube#7 to the collector and use a heated one for that, also i had to weld a bushing to the passenger side to be able to mount the support bracket to the ac bracket

With couple of beers and lunch I'm almost done with it, I vacuumed the system an hour ago, and the needle of the gauge hasn't move from 30 in vacum that's means so far it's all good!!

hey while I have you here... what did tags and liscense cost you for your 91? I am probably going to register mine next week, and was just curious what the cost was roughly.

I'm not sure if the cost is the same in AZ, but here in CA my registration is due next month and it's $84

by the way, i broke the evaporator trying to replace the orifice tube, i changed the reciever/drier, and drained the compressor and put pag100 oil in it, my system been converted to r 134 before i had the car, but i wasn't satisfied about it, and after flushing the new evaporator and doing the above things, my ac is freezing the leather seats on idle!! i could never be more happy with it than now

thanks to everyone here , i couldnt do it without ur help

and special thanks to my friend Gerard from australia who was the first one who sent me his helpful tips via pm
