Default SUDDEN ELECTRICAL DEATH!

I'd just changed out the fuel filter and hung the stock exhaust system on the sled then fired it up and listened to it. The car is running measurably better, with a slight lag behind throttle for response (I was told to expect that as it's still running the 48mm throttlebody.

Turned it off to clear the driveway, jumped back in, turned the key, everything lights up, starter engages and

Nothing.

Nada.

No accessory lights, no ignition, no cigarette lighter, nothing.

Battery's got 12.8v and I've started looking at the service manual, but at first glimpse, there's no heading for Catastrophic Electrical Failure of Everything.

I doublechecked the main grounding bolt, and the grounds on the flywheel houseing, they're clean and tight, I'm just wondering if yall have any suggestions. (BTW, the jumper block behind the battery is showing 2.5v, I've gotten THAT far in the diagnosis.)

Pull battery connections. Remove bolts and clean. Check positive battery terminal for acid leaks and outgassing. You may need to replace the cable if acid has gotten in.

Main terminal on starter is showing 12.6, main jumper.

Go out not 2 mintues later to check on something and the main positive distributioin block is showing 2.54, alternator is showing 2.54....

Turn key to 'run' it drops to .5, turn key to start, drops to .3v

WTF?

When jumper block is low, is starter low?

Check battery terminal connections. Pull the bolts out of the connectors / wires.

I thought the same thing...

Just because I'm working on a Corvette, I forget the obvious stuff.

Positive battery terminal had worked loose. <slapping forehead>
