Stick money into the l98 to get HP in the high 400's or LS swap. The only thing hindering my decision is the fact that the l98 has two bolt mains and that concerns me. Anybody have some objective advice?
If you want power near 500 hp you would want a 4 bolt main , a 2 bolt is pushing your luck at this hp rating.. . Sell your motor and use the money on the new motor because its not going to be cheap..Hp cost money..Once you get into this hp range its not just the motor that needs replacing, your stock transmission is useless and the whole drivetrain needs to be beefed up.. The motor is only part of the purchase... ..WW

Leave it alone and enjoy driving it and for the money you'd spend doing an LS swap buy a C5 that already has one in it. Just a thought.
Like mentioned above, 400 HP on an L98 based motor is gonna cost a lot of money & that's only part of the spending. I'd bet most guys are into it 10-15K before it's all said and done. If you don't race, you can build a 400 TQ motor a lot cheaper and have a fun street ride.
You'd still have to address the extra $tuff though
