Default [Paging]: Bill's86Coupe, got the stuff today.

I wanted to say thank you, but this stuff doesn't look right. :) I'm a little  right now.

The hose looks much much much shorter than the one I remember on Fastguy's '88. This looks like it would reach a PVC breather if it was on the front 1/2 of the valve cover, not the back 1/2 where it is.

Then you sent two screw in fittings. one is a plug that looks like where the actual CSV goes, and the other looks like a vacuum fitting.

Does one of these things plug into the back of the fuel rail? I don't see how. I honestly didn't go out and LOOK at my fuel rail tonight, but neither looks like what I imagined. :)

Thanks again let me know.

Hey scorp,
Glad they got there fine and about the pieces, the black screw with the O ring is for the back of the fuel rail.Youll see what its all about when you remove the CS line and nut off the back of it.Once you remove that, this will replace it.It doesnt look like much but thats what it does.

The vacuum fitting is for where the PCV/intake on the drivers side next to the CS valve injector. That hose is suppoed to allow you to connect that fitting and a PCV together over the valve cover.

See JD383 pics for that.I think his pic of the drivers engine has this hose.It should be the same hose.Or if You may not be able to use these pieces and if not,you can send them back anytime.Im pretty positive this is for a late L98 design.Let me know what you can do with it.

Thanks, bill, I'll take a look at it. I guess I was picturing the longer hose that goes from the passenger side breather to the TB.

Scorp,

Let me know if you need a pic from a particular angle. I'd be glad to help out if necessary.

Jay

Hey JD, thanks for chiming in to help.Hope everythings going great for ya.
:)
Scorp,
I wanted to remind you about something with the pcv system on the drivers side.IF you use this new hose and fitting, you may need a smaller pcv valve.I didnt test the fit but it looks smaller(diamater) then the stock 87 pcv size.
That new hose should allow direct pcv to intake manifold plumbing on the drivers side but youre going to have to figure out what to do with the charcoal cannister hose.

Our cars have a pcv system where the metal pipe along the valve cover has the holes for the cannister purge hose and the pcv itself.

Using the later style will require you to connect the cannister purge line to another vacuum source.Shouldnt be too hard to do.
I didnt think with the SR tubes you could reuse the stock metal pcv pipe that runs along the valve cover anymore which is why i sent you those pieces to try.

About the fuel rail again, youll see the 2 bolt nuts on the back and use 2 wrenches, one to hold and the other to back off the CS line, remove that and then remove the back bolt nut and the block off i sent you replaces it.Be sure to replace the O ring and lightly lube it before install.Real easy to do.
Keep us posted.
:)
