My 89 has stock pipes and mufflers, while it does sound nice, I really want MyLilSlut to growl at me, especially when I jump on the gas pedal. Is it possible to replace the mufflers and get what I'm wanting? If that is the case and I think it is, in some of you alls experience and opinions what muffler would do me the best?

your stock mufflers only had one working outlet. Go to dual outlet muffs or muffler eliminators for more sound. I have OEM style dual outlet Magnaflows on mine. try www.corvettecentral.com for a wide selection.

It's the outlet on the muffler itself. If you start your car and put your hand near your muffler outlets you will feel exhaust from only one of those outlets on each muffler. (Assuming you still have the original mufflers). On dual working outlets both have exhaust.
Summit was much cheaper than the usual Corvette suppliers.
They claim they're exactly the same as the stock mufflers internally. The main differences are that both holes are open and stainless steel tips (look very nice after polishing). They are definitely louder than stock.
