Default Dyno soon

Does anyone know of an engine dyno within 500 miles of Ashland, KY. I'd like to get my 383 LE2 LT1 Impala tuned and also my 383 Solid roller LE3 LT4 tuned. Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh (Ball game week only please) or someplace like that. I'm within 8 hours of most of the eastern US. Just need someone to tune and someone to run the engine dyno.

After that I'll get them ran on a chassis dyno and I will learn something. Is it 20% or not. LT1 has 3200 Pro Edge converter from Andre and the solid roller engine has 3800 street edge.

There has to be a chassis dyno somewhere in Kentucky or St. Louis, Missouri.

I can find a chassis dyno. I'd prefer an engine dyno. I'd rather bolt the engine up to a stand and tune it. I'm curious about FWHP vs RWHP and how much loss through the drivetrain.

OK.

You & I are the ONLY ONES ON C4 Then that still prefer & use Engine Dynos such as a Superflow water brake dyno or an EDDIE CURRENT DYNO.

Borowski in Rockdale- Illinois.

There is a shop around Springfield, IL that has engine dynos.

I use them both and depending on the combination the power drop has been between 18% and 21% on my combinations. I am sure some other combinations will yield different results.

-20.5% power drop on my 805 HP powerglide equiped drag car.
-18.5 power drop on a 637 HP 5 speed equiped 1969 Camero.

I like to collect data so I can seperate truth from fiction.

Some engine dyno shops are not equipped or do not want to run electronic fuel injected engines due to the ECM, harness, fuel pressure and the intake plumbing for the MAF and filter. If they can, don't spend to much time and money on the tune because it will have to be retuned on the chassis dyno once the car's engine is bolted in with the accessories, exhaust and induction systems. Many engine dyno shops use different atmospheric correction factors and test proceedures, such as the RPM step Vs sweep method, etc, to many things for the average customer to understand negating an apples to apples comparison. This is why we see so many different drive train loss percentages stated because there are many other variables when comparing the results of a given engine when comparing engine to chassis dyno numbers. I would only do a good eddy current chassis dyno test and tune, you will get a more accurate tune.

BOROWSKI was worth somewhere around $100 million when he died a few years back.

He always had the best equipment.

I was at his shop several times when he was alive & used his dyno.

Craziest Chi town racers hang out there & around the USA.

Show is still going strong there.

Thery had an exhibition setup at the Chicago drag race Expo this past winter.
