HELP ME PLEASE....I have owned my 1988 Corvette Convertible (C4) For over 10 years....Im a single mother and I have babied it. Every year I have a check up and mantained every year. This year my mechanic is no longer able to work on cars anymore. So this is the first year that I have had any major trouble...My car has a hestitation in it when you take it out on the highway and press on the gas and give her hell...(After 20 rpm) It acts like it wont move or speed up...When you let up on the gas and press the gas again it will then accelerate at a higher speed. If I drive it in town and Im at a stop sign sometimes it will die. I have seen white smoke too. I also put heet in it in case the gas has water in it.....Whats odd is that it does not happen all of the time. Here is a Time line of what has happened drove it for a week and seemed to be fine before I...Took it for an oil change then filled car up with gas. It began doing the problems that are listed above after the oil change and gas filled tank. I have had the main cadilidic converter (Back middle) Replaced. Greased rings in transmition. All fluids checked. Battery and altenator checked. Serpantine belt replaced too. It also seems like when I turn on air conditioning is when it starts acting up.....It sounded like it was the altenator but It checked out ok....Does anyone know what it could be or give me any suggestions for me? Thanks, Christinedlatch@yahoo.com

It could be a number of things, all of which takes some serious troubleshooting time. Find another Corvette mechanic and have them take a look. Hope everything turns out ok.

I had a hesitation on take off, a few times it would stall-out.Turned out to be a clogged fuel filter, ran great after being replaced. Hope you find your problem.
