How many miles will they go
My 90 is at 96000 and just got 24 miles per gallon on 340 mile trip on interstate and back roads at 75 & 60 with top down and no A/C. Automatic w/Perf axle ratio - these cars are impressive, I've had a couple of problems, water pump, starter but overall this one runs great and still will perform very well when called upon. Great road car - only problem is the speed limit would be more comfortable at 90 to 95 easy. I change oil regularly and change transmission fluid every 15000 miles or so - never have touched the rear axle gear oil - just keeps on ticking rather well?
well My dad bought my 94 new. I JUSt rebuilt the motor and tranny at 190k. The clutch made it untill 150k. The motor was fine even till 190k. My rear seal and timing cover seal went out and oil soaked my clutch so I had to repair and just pulled the motor and tranny and put goodies in.
Yes mpg is great in these vettes. My 99 vert avg 27mpg and my 94 I get about 22mpg now, I used to get 25-27

Its simply a matter of maintenance..
I got to approx (i forget, long time ago) 140,000 miles before making a fatal mistake and destroying the engine. Broken piston due to my ignorance. 140K....it had been maintained well and the machine shop was amazed at the true milege.
Rebuilt and now am approaching 300,000 on the clock, well beyond 150,000 on the current motor that was assembled with a few goodies. Maint has been the key to the longevity. had partial trans overhaul at approx 180K...no issues since with syn fluids that get changed often.
I keep the chassis sterile by pressure washing and degreasing so any wet spots do not collect grit and dirt to accellerate wear on suspension parts.
I would jump in that car tomorrow and drive it coast to coast, no worries. The fact that it would take a paramedic to extract me after 2 hrs in the saddle has no bearing on the reliability of the car. My physical limitations are the problem, not the cars....
It IS a very well made machine. Good engineering, good design. Although we find many things that we would have done different had we been involved in the production of the Corvette, GM should be applauded for what they acheived and produced for the asking price. Without the price as a limiting factor,. I would expect GM to produce the finest production car on the planet...(actually they DO IMHO..ZR-1)(CTSV Cad).

I got 140,000 on my 96 LT-4 the motor and trans rear strong..All else be changed the A/C compressor Ect.. ..I change the oil and all else often... But on dyno ran up tp 7,000 Rpm 5 times no prop and was on dyno before that 325 RWHp a few boltons... Cool..

Both the previous owner and myself beat the ever living s*** out of the L98. Blew head gasket at #7 piston at 95K and due to a bad mechanic, I just blew the motor up at 110K. Saved the Edelbrock heads and TPI at least

These motor are amazing when all the maintenance is done properly and they are taken care of. Hitting 140k or 150k is not only common, it's almost expected. Keep up the care and vigilance for problems and she will be with you for more time than the average marriage in the US!
Your right I don't race enough . Who's got the time.. I race my 96 but I turn right and left and sometimes go left when I should be going right and have had all the wheels off the track a the same time ..The front up cool all up just weard , yes Suzzy Covetts can fly. Make you want to go to church on Sun.If you live through it just want to do it one more time.. Looks like your haveing fun keep it up ,every time I miss a shift I think well this is it no rev-stop in this one just how fast you want to go..ECM wide open life on the edge..Got to love it..
