hey guys, i have a 91 coupe that i beleave the radio is bad, but not real sure. the radio turn on, but no sound the thing is if u listen very carefull u can hear a little bit thro.. any idea
again sorry i should have said it was the factory Gold Bose system..
sorry guys its been a crazy week. i was thinking it was a bad amp but wasnt sure, and i also really haven't had the time to look at it...
miker2 didn't see your ad i will look for it...
It's probably not a bad speaker amp. There are 4 of them and chances of all being bad at same time is zip.
It could be a Bose relay which supplies the 12 volts to each amp. I might see if I am getting voltage to one of the rear amps which are the easiest ones to get to. I think the orange is the feed and black is ground. I think the Bose relay is under dash in the 91.
If the voltage is there, then I would focus on the tuner assembly which is behind the passenger (I think in the 91). Check the connections and any corrosion at the pin connections. If you hear sound, then that probably means the tuner head is working (an assumption).
Does the antenna go up and down. That’s part of the Bose relay system.
If all fails, you may need to get the tuner sent out and checked.
