Ok, so I had to rpelace my coil wire wehn I accidentally crimped it putting in a new heater hose, and when iI got it back in adn went to start it up, the batter ws dead, so I jumped it, but it wouldn't turn ocer when the key was turned all the way on..on Ihad to jiggle it halfway til it would suddenly kick over, then it did start right up. Afuyer I dorve it awhile I turnd i toff ,and then it did start right up without having to jiggle it, but them when I go home and went to turn it off, every time I did the starter would just keep turning, even after I wolud turn off the igniion swtch and take the key out!!.If I switched it back to run it would of course star up again..I let it sit for about 5 min running and then tried again and it sdid shut off without the starter going on .Any ideas?
ps,,jsut found a mechanic locally wth experience with vettees and he sid possible could be the solonoid is pitted?? does that make sense??

ign switch, relay, safety switch, or solenoid sticking, is a guess. the mechanic is on track, in that the contacts in the solenoid may have stuck together. that requires a lot of current -which is present in the solenoid. it's a denso, and I have never had one apart.
may be off track, myself.
yeah,it's onl y around 120 for a rebuilt starter, which as parts for this thing g is pretty cheap..and I dont have the time or know how to start fooling with it myself..plus,as I state dinanother thread which youmay or may not have seen,I am looking to sell the 96 and am buying a 92 ZR-1(#501) which I am sure is going to need ongoing work done on it, and this guy is right up the block form my house, so I figure ths is a good tet to see if he;s good and honst and I canbring that to him when needed.. He's chargingme 400 to R&R the starter and the radiator whic is leaking transmission fluid..( a seperate issue) plus he pulled both this morning already. which is reasonable and realy quick compared to so called "corvette" places..the nearest of which to me is slow, expensive and 45 min away.
