Default Sway Bar Size???

I know this sounds stupid but my head is spinning with trying to size two sway bars. I bought an entire rear assembly from a C4. The rear was a dana 36 with 3:07's. I just wanted the gears everything else was sold except two sway bars. The guy just handed me the sway bars and I never really looked at them. I assumed one was for the rear and the other for the front. I am pretty sure from pictures that both sway bars are for the front. If I measure the bar completely around....one bar is 3 inches and the other is 2 3/4 round. They are stock bars. If someone knows what they would be in MM?? Also what year vette they were used on?

thanks for the help.....

38 mm & 34.9 mm respective.

How did you measure the sway bars ?
With a string & tape measure ?

2 sets of sway bars made for C4's.
1984- 1987, early cars.
1988 to 1996. later cars.

Do a search for the C4 suspension spec chart. It shows what models had what sway bars. The better/sport suspension had the solid bar that was thicker as well. They used a couple different diameter tube type bars on base models and some z52.

The difference after 87 was width in mounting. From 88 and up the rear end got a bit narrower as did all the pieces under there.

My 87 has the Z52 package.
Solid front sway bar mounted up front.

3.00 / pi X 25.4 = 24 mm
2.75 / pi X 25.4 = 22 mm

To measure bars, use an open end wrench.
